What is Septoplasty?
Septoplasty is a type of nasal surgery to correct a deviated septum. The septum is the cartilage and bone structure dividing the right and left nasal passages. When the septum leans to one side or the other and is significantly off-center, it can stop the free flow of air through one or both nostrils. This may result in:
- Chronic congestion
- Breathing problems
- Frequent sinus infections
- Ongoing headaches
- Snoring or poor sleep
- Facial pressure
